NEWS: Scalextric BMW Mini Cooper (C3528)

Scalextric BMW Mini Cooper
C3528, MINI Challenge 2012 Series, Lee Allen

Soon to be released by Scalextric is the Sussex Road and Race BMW Mini Cooper as reached by Lee Allan in the Mini Challenge Series 2012.  The blue/black livery looks great on the Mini, I haven't driven one of these little cars for almost a decade but recall them being fun although a little top-heavy through the corners

NEWS: NSR Corvette C6R (1174AW)

NSR Corvette C6R
1174AW - Antony Morato 'Black', AW King EVO3

NSR are about to release another version of their Corvette C6R and there's no need to tell you that ManicSlots loves the C6R on the track - perhaps NSR's best GT release except for the Mosler?

Speaking of NSR's GT line-up, we heard that NSR will be expanding the GT range to include BMW Z4 GT3 later in 2014 followed by the McLaren P1 and Corvette C7 in 2015!

The new Anthony Morato black with highlight yellow livery is very eye catching and would look absolutely bad arse running around the track!

From NSR: 'NSR's objective is to make a GT car using modern technology, so high tech ‘Ready To Race’. It needed to be competitive straight out the box.

The Corvette is an innovative model with high tech components, highly performing on track still respecting the scale modellistic aspect.

Corvette comes in anglewinder setup. The motor is King EVO 21 which has 21400 rpm @ 12 Volts 322 gr/cm.'

It seems Slot.it are on a roll at the moment with their releases, next cab of the rank is the ever popular Porsche 911 GT1 EVO 98 in the FIA GT Donington Park 1998 livery.  Personally I love the 911 GT1 EVO and have numerous of Slot.it and Fly version of the famous motorcar.  The green and red livery combined with the gold wheels makes the Donington livery look fantastic and unique.  Counting the Le Mans Winners boxed release, this is the 4th 911 GT1 released by Slot.it.

From Slot.it: 'The 911 GT1 EVO 98 was designed by Porsche to compete in the GT1 category in 1998, at the Le Mans 24 Hours and in the FIA GT International Championship. In the beginning, the GT1 class was based on GT (Grand Touring) cars prepared for racing, but eventually they became racing prototypes.

The '98 car was a brand new model from Porsche. This was the first car built by Porsche with a carbon composite monocoque chassis. It came with front and rear double wishbone suspensions with pushrod, 18” wheels, carbon brake discs.

Engine was a six-cylinder, flat, 3.2 litres twin turbo, 4 valves per cylinder, water-cooled, unit, with maximum torque of 630 Nm at 5000 rpm and maximum power of 550 hp at 7200 rpm. Gearbox was six-speed sequential with triple disc carbon fibre clutch. Fuel tank capacity 100 litre.

In 1998, the FIA GT championship was dominated by Mercedes, but Porsche was able to win the Le Mans 24 Hours. A.Hahne and A.Scheld ran car number 5 In the FIA GT race at Donington Park, UK.'

Black Arrow Aston Martin DBR9
BACM01D - 'Team Modena'
1,000km Nürburgring winner, 2008 Le Mans Series

Black Arrow's Aston Martin DBR9 speaks for itself in terms of model accuracy, build quality, engineering and on-track performance.  The latest livery to be (3rd release) released by Black Arrow is the Team Modena liveried car that won the 1,000km Nürburgring race in the 2008 LeMans Series.  The Team Modena livery is very unique with its bright red wheels and dark paint scheme making it stand out from the pack.

I'm lucky enough to also own the Black Arrow 009 Gulf release and thought that one of these great runners would be enough for my collection, but when Black Arrow releases such impressive liveries, how can it be?
