NEWS: Ferrari 2013 LaFerrari

Ferrari's 2013 'LaFerrari' is launched!

Ferrari have just introduced their "Enzo successor" in Geneva, La Ferrari or 'the Ferrari' is the new Ferrari flagship!  To be produced in limited numbers (499) at a price of €1.3 million and to be only sold to Ferrari's best clients - you must already own 3 Ferraris to qualify!  Will we see LaFerrari as a slot car, I hope so but without racing liveries slot manufactures may stay clear.

This from Ferrari: 'The LaFerrari represents Ferrari’s most ambitious project yet to push the boundaries of technology on a road car, drawing together the finest expression of the marque’s technical capabilities in both GT and Formula 1 engineering. It boasts the most extreme performance ever achieved by a Ferrari production car and features the most advanced and innovative technical solutions which will, in the future, filter down to the rest of the Ferrari range. With production limited to just 499 examples, LaFerrari continues Ferrari’s tradition in building uncompromising performance cars for a small number of highly discerning clients.'

This is the official launch video for Ferrari's new flagship vehicle, LaFerrari.  The GTO, F40, F50, Enzo and now LaFerrari - Just be sure you crank up the bass!!

'The 6262 cc V12 is the most powerful naturally-aspirated engine ever used on Ferrari a road car. As well as producing 800 CV, the V12 spins to 9250 rpm which guarantees fantastic performance and driving pleasure as well as that unmistakable Ferrari V12 sound. These completely unprecedented results can be attributed to work carried out in three areas: volumetric, mechanical and combustion efficiency.'

'The LaFerrari’s architecture represents the pinnacle of innovation even by Ferrari’s legendary standards. The objective was to increase aerodynamic efficiency, deliver ideal weight distribution, lower the car’s centre of gravity as far as possible, and, most importantly of all, seamlessly integrate the new hybrid system.'

NEWS: Racer Ferrari 512S

RCR66 - Ferrari 512S, Escuderia Montjuich
Le mans 24hrs 1970, J. Juncadella / J. Fernandez

Racer Slot Cars have sent through some impressive photos of the soon (end of June) to be released RCR66 Ferrari 512S driven by J. Juncadella and J. Fernandez at Le Mans in 1970.

The car was run by the Spanish team 'Escuderia Montjuich' and started 24th on the grid.  While the car was a DNF due to transmission damage after a spin, it did completed 130 laps of the famous circuit.  It will come as no huge surprise that the 1970 race was dominated and won by Porsche with their 917K.

From Racer, 'This model shows details such as different nose and sides when compared to previous RCR63A and B raced at Sebring.  The RCR66 will be available by the end of June'

As always Racer has produced a model that is easy on the eye, the Spanish team came up with a striking livery and it looks really good as a slot in my opinion.  Yet another example of a beautiful slot car from Racer, something we have long come to expect.
