Strengths:

• Front and rear lights, (appropiate lighting levels given the era)
• Solid 'from the box' performance, (little rear tire trueing required)
• High level of detail,
• Fantastic paint finish
• Forced centering, quick change glide

Weaknesses:

• Front mounted, offset motor position doesn't give good weight distribution

Verdict:

The Mercedes 300SLR is a stunning looking slot on the track, Scalextric have done a fantastic job in releasing this classic line of slot cars. Track performance is below the typical Scalextric release but that seems appropriate for this release.
