NEWS: Slot.it F40
Slot.it Ferrari F40
These photos just released from Amazingslot.com. The Warsteiner Porsche 956 is an attractive livery particularly in the gold and white. The Warsteiner-Team/Joest-Racing 956 was driven by Bob Wollek and won the DRM Norisring event in 1983 after 70 laps, 46.83 seconds ahead of the Brun Motorsport Sehcar C6 entry.
But enough talk about the 956 as nice as it is, what about the new Ferrari F40!? Slot.it have out done themselves this time, I had high expectations with Slot.it's new F40 but they have been surpassed! What a beast, the F40's lines have been captured perfectly and the slot looks very aggrssive which is always a great thing in a race car. I think the highlight with this model has to be the new F40 wheels Slot.it have produced, they look fantastic. Other notable features are the side window detail, ventilated rear window and excellent body work detail. Fantastic work Slot.it!

SLOT SOUL: Porsche 962C

2007 has to be the year of the plain kit. Slot.it, MB Slot, Ninco and Spirit all release slots in plain kits so you can create your own piece of slot soul, a unique liveried slot car with your own character. I find that there is nothing more enjoyable as racing your own personal liveried slot.
I thought I'd start sharing some of my sprayed and liveried slot cars as I really enjoy this aspect of our great hobby. If you're a first timer, this section is designed to inspire you to start down the road of producing your own slot cars. If you have already explored this aspect of our hobby, I hope you enjoy the photos. I encourage you to send some photos of your cars in so I can share them with other readers.
This slot started out as a Rothmans Porsche 956 from the 3 car LE Rothmans set, (I didn't have a spare 962). The slot had been raced hard and it was showing with scratches and some damage to the tail. For some reason decals had also started to come away in places, it was time for a respray!
The Camel Brun Motorsport Porsche 962C raced at Le Mans in 1988 but did not finish due to an accident after 91 laps. The car was driven by Walter Lechner, Franz Hunkeler and Manuel Reuter.

IMMORTAL: Slot.it 956C

From time to time, ManicSlots is going to take a look at some of the 'immortal' slot cars that have been produced since the 'Fly' revolution of 1996. In 1996 Fly released the Viper, a slot car that would change the direction of the 1/32 slot car industry forever! Fly let us know that slot cars could actually resemble a racing car and introduced the slot car industry to the 'D' word, detail!
The longest running and arguably most successful model release by Slot.it has to be the Porsche 956C. Probably the most desirable of the Slot.it 956 releases is the 1984 New-Man livery. The New-Man was Slot.it's first limited edition release, (Le Mans winners) and this makes the slot particularly collectible. The slot was limited to 6,000 units, this car is number 344.
The New-Man Joest Racing Porsche 956 won Le Mans by 2 laps after completing 360 laps. The New-Man car was driven by Henri Pescarolo and Klaus Ludwig. There was a second New-Man car, (#8) but this did not finish due to an over-heating problem after 170 laps.
When the slot was initially released it had incorrect tire branding. In true Slot.it form they produced a free set of replacement tires for all cars with the correct Dunlop branding. The car also comes with a LE cardboard card with release number. Expect to pay in excessive of $US150 for one.
