Soon to be released is Scalextric's first (non high-impact version) of the all new Maserati Trofeo. The Maserati Trofeo is raced in the Trofeo MC World Series so there are plenty of exciting liveries that Scalextric will be able to release. The "McCafe" car looks pretty impressive (I was always a fan of Scalextric's MC12 release) and details levels are high, something you expect from Scalextric these days.
Of course the model comes with front and rear lights and she is digital plug ready. Judging from the bottom photo of the actual Trofeo, (2012 livery) Scalextric have done a solid job capturing the the accuracy of the Maserati. I would have liked to see the front bonnet intake for sure, it would have seriously added to the look of the slot. The slot is due for release in September, see you favourite stockist.
This (and images I might add) from Hornby America; 'During the the Maserati World Series of 2012 starting in Round 2 held at Portimao, the Belgian driver Renaud Kuppens made his name known. The Portimao series consists of three races: two sprints and one endurance race. In the Maserati Trofeo, Kuppens placed 4th and 5th in the sprints, but in the more challenging endurance, Kuppens took first driving solo.
He proved to be the 'most consistent competitor' at this point and eventually being honored with the European Title and going on the win the Maserati Trofeo World Series World Title for continuously placing each round of the Series. '
